Budget Checking Expense Reports Prior to Approval
If an expense report has a status of "Not Checked", you must Budget Check it prior to approval.
Step 1: Access the Expense Report via the Approval Inbox
- Login to the NUPortal
- In Approval Inbox, retrieve transactions by clicking number to left of appropriate transaction type Expense Report
- or NUFinancials > NU Workflow > Approval Inbox
Step 2: Review Budget Status
- If the Budget Status is "Not Chk'd", click the Budget Options link.
Step 3: Run the Budget Check
- Click Budget Check.
Step 4: Review Budget Checking Header Status
- If the status is "Error", correct errors before proceeding. Refer to Common Errors for Expense Transactions
- If the status is "Valid", click OK. With a "Valid Budget Check",the transaction can now be Approved.
