How to Enroll in Training

Register for training online with FASIS. Here's how to get there.

Use links from Getting Started, Training Sequence, Curriculum, or calendar to see:

  • course descriptions,
    which link to FASIS to show...
  • all available sessions of a given course on both campuses

Enrolling/Changing/Dropping Courses

Registering for Training through eDevelopment

Use these instructions to navigate through FASIS Self Service to a course instead of using the links above and/or to change your enrollment.

  1. Access Human Resources/FASIS Self Service at: https://nupa.northwestern.edu
    If you get a popup asking, “Do you want to display the non-secure items?” respond “yes.”
  2. Sign in with your NetID and password.
  3. Click Workplace Learning
  4. Click Request Training Enrollment (continue below)

If you are clicking through from a course description on the FFRA site and are not yet logged in to FASIS, you may need to begin at the following step (after logging in):

  1. Click Search by Course Name, Course Number, or Date.
    6a. In "name" text box, type at least one complete word of the course title (no wildcards)
    OR
    6b. In "number" text box, type FMS (short for Financial Management Systems) for a list of all FFRA system courses or the complete course number
  2. Click Search
  3. Click View Available Sessions next to the class you want to enroll in
  4. Click the Session link next to the session you would like to enroll in
  5. Follow the prompts to complete registration
  • You will receive an email from FASIS confirming your registration request with the subject line "Request Submitted."

Dropping or Changing a Course through FASIS

Before you begin……

  • You must wait until your enrollment is confirmed (via the above email) before you can drop a course you are enrolled in.
  • Before you can enroll in a different section of a course you are already enrolled in, you must first drop the course through eDevelopment.
  1. Access Human Resources FASIS Self Service at: https://nupa.northwestern.edu.
  2. Sign in with your NetID and password
  3. Click Workplace Learning
  4. Click Training Summary
  5. Click Drop next to the course you want to drop
  6. Follow the prompts to drop the course
  7. A dialog box appears confirming that you have been successfully dropped from the course

Enrolling in a different course or different section

If, after dropping, you wish to enroll in a different course, click Request Training Enrollment in the FASIS left navigation and follow our instructions beginning at #6, under Enrolling in a Course through FASIS.
